Delete Your FocusChamps Account

You can permanently delete your FocusChamps account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what (if anything) is retained.
How to delete your account
Option 1 — From inside the app (fastest)
- Open FocusChamps and sign in as the parent whose account you want to delete.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom — the Danger zone card.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Type
DELETEto confirm. - Tap Delete forever.
The account is removed immediately. You'll be signed out automatically.
Option 2 — By email
If you can't sign in (lost password, locked out, can't open the app), email support@focuschamps.com from the email address on the account you want deleted, with the subject line "Delete my account".
Please include:
- The email address on your FocusChamps account.
- The family name (if you remember it).
We will verify the request, delete the account, and reply within 7 business days to confirm completion.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your parent profile (display name, avatar, settings).
- Your authentication record (email, password hash).
- Push notification tokens registered to this account.
If you are the primary parent of your family and there is no co-parent, deletion also removes:
- The entire family record.
- Every kid profile in the family (names, ages, avatars, usernames, PINs).
- All tasks, goals, rewards, and redemptions ever created for that family.
- All Focus Point transaction history for every kid.
- All co-parent invitations the family has issued.
If you are the primary parent and a co-parent exists, deletion removes only your parent profile — the co-parent is automatically promoted to primary and the family carries on without you.
If you are a co-parent, deletion removes only your parent profile. The primary parent, kids, and family data remain intact.
What is retained, and why
After your account is deleted, almost nothing is kept. The two narrow exceptions are:
- Routine database backups. Our database provider (Supabase) keeps rolling encrypted backups for up to 7 days for disaster recovery. Your deleted records are purged from those backups within 7 days of deletion. We do not query or restore individual records from these backups except in the case of a system-wide outage.
- Anonymized aggregate counts. We may keep non-personal aggregate metrics such as "number of accounts created in May 2026" for product analytics. These contain no identifiers tied to you.
We do not retain your email, name, or any kid information after deletion is complete.
How long deletion takes
- In-app deletion: immediate. The account is unusable the moment you confirm.
- Email-based deletion: within 7 business days, often the same day.
- Backup purge: within 7 days after deletion completes.
Cancelling a deletion request
In-app deletion is immediate and irreversible. There is no recovery window.
For email-based requests, you can cancel by replying to our confirmation email before we have processed the deletion. Once you receive the "deletion complete" reply, the account cannot be restored.
