Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for FocusChamps, a family chore-and-reward app. We try to keep this short and honest.
Who we are
FocusChamps is operated by [Your Name / Company]. If you have any privacy question, email support@focuschamps.com.
What we collect
When a parent signs up, we collect:
- Email address (used to sign in, for password recovery, and for receiving family notifications such as co-parent invites you accept).
- Password (stored as a one-way hash by our auth provider; we never see the plaintext).
- Display name (whatever you choose to show in the app).
- An optional avatar emoji you pick.
When a parent adds a kid to their family, the parent provides:
- The kid's first name (display name).
- The kid's age (used to suggest the right login mode).
- An optional username and 6-digit PIN if the kid will sign in directly.
- An optional 4-digit "picker PIN" so siblings can't open each other's profile on a shared device.
- An optional avatar emoji.
We do not collect any contact information directly from kids. Kids who never sign in (shared-device mode for ages 5–9) have no auth account at all — only a profile created by their parent.
As you use the app, we store:
- Tasks the parent assigns and the kid completes.
- Rewards the parent creates and the kid redeems.
- Goals the kid proposes and the parent approves.
- Focus Points (FP) earned, spent, and any bonus or daily-allowance credits.
- A history of these transactions so the family can see what happened and when.
We do not collect:
- Photos, videos, or audio.
- Contacts, calendar, or location data.
- Browsing or device-identifier data for advertising.
- Any third-party tracking pixels.
Why we collect it
Solely to make FocusChamps work for your family: signing you in, showing your kids their tasks and rewards, awarding the right number of points, and letting parents review and approve activity.
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your data with advertising networks.
How we store it
Your data lives in a Supabase project we operate, hosted in [region]. Supabase encrypts data at rest and in transit. Access is restricted by row-level security policies tied to your account.
Third parties we use
The minimum to make the app work:
- Supabase (database, authentication, edge functions). Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy.
- Resend (transactional email — sign-up confirmation, password recovery, co-parent invites). Privacy policy: resend.com/privacy.
- Apple (App Store delivery, push notifications). Privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.
- Google Play (if you install on Android). Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Sentry (anonymized crash reports — only triggered when something in the app errors out). Privacy policy: sentry.io/privacy.
We don't share data with these providers beyond what's needed to deliver the service.
Children's data (COPPA)
FocusChamps is designed for families. The kid profiles in the app are created by the parent, who is the responsible party for what kid information goes in. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The parent controls everything: what name and age get entered, whether the kid gets a sign-in account, and when to delete the kid's profile.
If you believe a child has registered themselves without parental consent, email support@focuschamps.com and we will remove the data.
Your rights and how to exercise them
- Access — your full account is visible in the app at any time.
- Correction — every field is editable in the parent profile or kid management screens.
- Deletion — there is a "Delete my account" button in the parent profile screen. It permanently removes your account; if you are the primary parent and there is no co-parent, it also removes the entire family and all kid profiles, tasks, rewards, and history. - Export — not yet supported in-app. Email us and we will provide a JSON export of your family's data within 30 days.

How long we keep data
For as long as you keep your account. When you delete your account (see above), the data goes with it; we don't keep silent backups beyond the routine 7-day rolling backup our database provider keeps for disaster recovery.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify the email on your account. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new policy.
